We took Oupa on a "road trip", towing him to have a new roof lining fitted. I have to say that it is a bad experience driving without a front windscreen. I bought black roof lining.

The long awaited assembly of Oupa has finally started.

THE FIX

The panel which had the "fish eyes", has now been repaired and sprayed. Except for the doors, Oupa has been completely sprayed and polished. I have ordered window rubbers from a supplier and once it has arrived, the roof lining can be put in and window rubbers can be fitted.

THE BATTERY TRAY

As some of you might know, a Beetle of Oupa's age with a solid rust free battery tray is a very rare find. Oupa also suffered from the same disease but Joggie successfully completed the operation and the battery tray section is better than new.

Battery acid is not your friend

They say that rust is lighter than carbon...lol
